The Central London Maintenance Association has adopted the Charity Brainwave and has appointed Nigel Charleston to the committee especially to help in raising money for this worthwhile charity.
Brainwave is the UK’s leading Charity bringing greater independence to children with disabilities through working with families to deliver individual home based therapy and exercise programmes to help children suffering from Disabilities and Developmental Delay to achieve their full potential. Brainwave is an innovative, dynamic Charity working at the very leading edge of what therapy can achieve.
The children on the Brainwave programme are aged six months to twelve years and have many different conditions, the most common are; Cerebral Palsy, Down’s, Syndrome and Autism. . Brainwave is a national Charity and since 1982 has helped thousands of children from every part of the country to develop life changing skills and more meaningful, happier lives. Children are learning for the first time to stand, walk, feed themselves, solve problems, communicate and become more engaged in their communities.
The Charity provides parents with a bespoke programme of daily and home-based exercises and structured play to undertake with the children.
The Brainwave programme encompasses Cognitive Therapy, Developmental Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Paediatric Physical Therapy and in some cases Speech and Language Therapy.
An exceptional quality about the work of Brainwave is that the outcomes achieved benefit each child for every day of their life.
